Puppy progress

Puppies

The Northumbria Police pups are now with their individual handlers.

All the pups have passed their aptitude tests and are undergoing their training to hopefully go on to become a Northumbria Police dogs.

Eight handlers have been assigned a pup to look after and put them through their essential training.

The handlers and their families have learnt about what the puppies need and have been given some handy tips on how to settle the pup into its new life.

All the handlers are already experienced with dogs, some of who already have at least one police dog, however, it’s important their families are also fully committed to the care of each pup and the next stage of its journey to becoming a police dog.
