Effective and efficient communications systems are essential for any successful organisation which is why Northumbria Police has its own in house ICT Department at force headquarters in Ponteland.
The department provides all computer and communication services for the force including hardware maintenance, technical support for commercial packages and police radios, in-house development of operational software and a service desk.
The nature of operational police work demands high availability IT systems which is provided by our support teams. The department also plays a pivotal role in support of the force's changing requirements in the fight against crime and the fear of crime.
