Action Fraud
Action Fraud is the UK’s national fraud reporting centre,providing a central point of contact for information about fraud.
The service is run by the National Fraud Authority – the government agency that helps to co-ordinate the fight against fraud in the UK.
You can gain help and advice over the phone through the Action Fraud contact centre by calling 0300 123 2040. Alternatively you can use the online fraud reporting service which is available 24 hours a day, enabling you to report a fraud and find help and support.
ARCH (Newcastle)
ARCH works across Tyne & Wear to tackle hate crime and reduce community tensions, facilitating a network of over 40 agencies in Newcastle alone. The purpose of ARCH is:
to work towards increasing the proportion of Hate incidents that are reported, and coordinate agency responses to them
to develop training, education and preventative work.
to develop models of community intelligence, local problem solving and conflict management
ARCH has also developed a web based reporting, referral and case management system for racist, religious, homophobic, transphobic incidents and bullying of young people.
There are now over 130 incident reporting centres across Tyne & Wear. ARCH works with over 40 agencies with 1000+ trained users. You can report racist, religious, homophobic and transphobic incidents, and bullying of young people to ARCH.
All ARCH partner agencies work together to get the best support to the victims and to take action against the perpetrators.
Ask the Police
The FAQ database is intended to reduce the number of non-emergency calls to police forces by providing the answers direct to the public via the Internet. The database contains answers to a wide selection of nationally asked questions and the facility for forces to input local information.
Anti-Terrorist Hotline
If you think you have seen something suspicious or you are unsure about somebody’s activities or behaviour, however insignificant it may seem at the time, call the confidential Anti-Terrorist hotline on 0800 789 321.

North East Information Line
In the event of a major incident or community crisis, Northumbria Police may activate the North East Information Line (NEIL).
NEIL is a public telephone line which is used to issue warnings and advice. For instance, people may be advised to leave a particular area or stay in a particular area.
NEIL is only activated when it is considered necessary as part of a response to a particular situation. It is managed by Northumbria Police but other emergency services may also use it for their important public messages.

Northumbria Safer Roads Initiative (NSRI)
The Northumbria Safer Roads Initiative was established in 2007 as an evolution of the Northumbria Safety Camera Partnership following changes to the programme and the partnership encompassing a broader remit for road safety.
The camera enforcement element covers, speed, mobile phone offences, not in proper control, red-light jumping and other road traffic offences. Additionally, the partnership engages in a wider range of Education, Training and Publicity initiatives, including media campaigns, road shows, research and young driver projects.

Probation Service

Safety Works!
Safety Works! in Newcastle is an interactive learning experience which is owned by Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service and has recently undergone a complete refurbishment which includes new scenery, realistic smells and sounds. Partners within the resource include Northumbria Police, Sainsburys, Nexus, St John's Ambulance, The Environment Agency, Youth Offending Teams, Crime and Disorder Reduction Partnerships and all five TWFRS local authorities.
Realistic scenarios will be used to communicate a wide range of messages including the consequences of crime, personal safety as well as drugs and alcohol awareness.
The centre is suitable for all ages and is an excellent example of how partnership working can help make communities safer.
