Camera Enforcement and
Road Safety Partnership

Northumbria Safer Roads Initiative (NSRI)
Funding for road safety camera enforcement is provided by the partnership with the six local authorities within the policing area.
The NSRI manages 40 fixed and 150 mobile camera sites at locations around the force area.
These sites meet the necessary criteria for road safety camera locations and road safety cameras are operated in accordance with Association of Chief Police Officers (ACPO) guidelines.
The road safety cameras provide a deterrent to bad driving as well as providing evidence of the such behaviour in order to educate or enforce.
Education is supported by the national driver alertness course (DAC) and driver offender retraining scheme (NDORS) courses.
NSRI provides assistance to neighbourhood policing teams to develop options to address community concerns over road safety issues.
Visit the Northumbria Safer Roads Initiative (NSRI) website for safety camera locations and speed and collision data for camera sites.
