About our performance
The Policing Plan
The joint Northumbria Police and Northumbria Police Authority Policing Plan 2011-14 is a public document that outlines the force’s major objectives for the next three years.
The plan for 2011-14 sets out how the force will provide the best possible service to communities and ensure that local police officers work as closely as possible with them, as well as with partners, to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour.
The plan also sets out how the force will measure progress against objectives and how the budget is set to support this.

Satisfaction
To provide and monitor quality of service, public surveys are carried out to ask people what they think about the services that the force provides. This includes asking people who report crime or anti-social behaviour about the quality of service they receive. The force has achieved consistently high levels of satisfaction and is placed 1st or 2nd nationally for overall satisfaction, ease of contact, actions taken and follow up.
Confidence
The British Crime Survey (BCS) asks people living in households in England and Wales about their experiences of crime in the last 12 months. These experiences are used to estimate levels of crime and gauge perceptions of the criminal justice system and attitudes towards crime. For many of the BCS police, councils and public confidence measures, the force is 1st or 2nd nationally, including; the percentage of people who agree that the police and local councils are dealing with anti-social behaviour and crime issues that matter in their area, the percentage of people who agree that the police in their area are dealing with the things that matter to people in their community, the percentage of people who think the police do a good job and the percentage who think the police can be relied upon to be there when needed.
Anti-social behaviour (ASB)
The number of ASB incidents has reduced by 3% and the percentage of people who perceive a high level of ASB in their local area has reduced by 1.8%pts to 14.2% (4th in the MSG).
