The police service and other parts of the public sector face significant financial pressures over the coming years as part of the government's Comprehensive Spending Review.
Northumbria Police have been reviewing our organisational structure to identify areas where we can work more efficiently to improve services and make efficiencies. This review has identified a requirement to reduce police officer and police staff numbers.
In addition, police staff vacancies will only be advertised externally in exceptional circumstances.
