Information for victims of crime
If you report a crime or have been a victim of crime you will receive a letter from the Victim Care Bureau. Included with this letter is a 'Victim of Crime' leaflet which offers advise and includes details of services available to victims.

The Home Office has created the leaflet to explain:
- What the police will do
- Going to court
- Your rights
- Compensation (if you have been injured or your property stolen or damaged)
- Support and advice available from other organisations in Northumbria.
Victim's Code of Practice
In April 2006, the Victim's Code of Practice came into force. CJS Online has information about the Code and attending court as a victim. You will also find guidance for vulnerable or intimidated victims, including children, on the website. You can view a Victim Virtual Walkthrough at CJS Online.

Sentencing
