The Olympics Games will be held in the UK from July 27 to August 12 next year with venues in London and across the country.

Newcastle United’s home ground will host nine football matches on six days between July 26 and August 4, 2012.

The Paralympics will be held from August 29 to September 9, 2012.

The Olympic torch will go around the country 70 days before the opening ceremony.
It will be in the Northumbria force area for two days.

On the night of June 14 it will be at Alnwick Castle then will travel south, and spend the night in Newcastle on June 15. There will be evening celebrations in both locations and other events associated with the torch relay.
