Drugs recovered in Shiremoor

Police in Whitley Bay have recovered a large quantity of suspected controlled drugs and made two arrests. Officers carried out a search warrant at a house in South Street, Shiremoor, North Tyneside on Friday, November 20, following concerns from the community.
Officers from the Whitley Bay Neighbourhood Policing Team have made a search of the premises as a result of information from residents.
Two people have been arrested on suspicion of drugs offences, are a 54-year-old man and a 50-year-old woman, they are currently helping police with their enquiries. Police have recovered what it believed to be 1.5 Kilos of controlled drugs and some suspected stolen property.
