Drug dealer forfeits profit
Dated: 09 Feb 2010

A CONVICTED drug dealer has been ordered to pay back thousands of pounds of his ill-gotten gains following a Northumbria Police investigation.
Neil John Barratt, 43, formerly of Throckley, will have to pay more than £25,000 within six months.
Barratt was jailed for 18 years in June 2009 for conspiracy to supply class A drugs, GBH, blackmail and possession of a prohibited weapon.
On Friday, February 5, 2010, a confiscation hearing was held at Newcastle Crown Court to assess how much money Barratt had made from crime.
It was agreed that Barratt should pay back £25,200. If he fails to pay this sum within the allotted time an extra year will be added to his sentence. He will still have to pay the debt.
