Sometimes a grown-up might deliberately do something which harms you. We call this abuse.
If you think you are being abused, it is important to know it is not your fault and it can be stopped.
Grown-ups are meant to look after you.
Abuse can be:
If your mum or dad, or another grown-up, deliberately hurts you.
When a grown-up touches you in a way that is wrong, or gets you to touch them in a way that is wrong.
When the grown-ups you live with do not give you proper food or clothes, or do not look after you when you are poorly.
It is never OK to hurt someone, no matter what. Don't be forced to keep a 'secret'.
Remember: IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT AND IT CAN BE STOPPED
