In 2009 a Northumbria Police dog called Heidi gave birth to 8 puppies. They were named Bruce, Chase, Kaiser, Rick, Rico, Storm, Tala and Vegas.
All the pups have passed their tests and are now undergoing their training as fully operational police dogs.
Eight handlers were assigned to the pups to look after them and put them through their essential training.
The handlers and their families have learnt about what the puppies need and have been given some handy tips on how to settle the pup into its new life.
All the handlers are already experienced with dogs, some of who already have at least one police dog. However, it is important their families are also fully committed to the care of each pup and the next stage of its journey to becoming a police dog.
You can see pictures and videos of the dogs when they were puppies here.
