Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')
Thank you for your email dated 21 April 2011 in which you made a request for access to certain information which may be held by Northumbria Police.
As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.
You asked:
Data on the number of Police Officers that have been injured whilst on duty for Northumbria Police.
Data showing the different types of injuries they received whilst on duty- a general breakdown will suffice.
Data highlighting how much time off they needed to recuperate from their injuries-an average breakdown will suffice.
Provide me with any policy documents or reports which highlight or expand on any of the information I have requested above
As regards 1) to 3), ideally I would like data for the years 2006 to 2011 inclusive, in annual data sets, for the whole Northumbria Police force.

We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.
Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the HR Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held, in part, by Northumbria Police.
I have decided to disclose the located information to you as follows. Please note this data is held by financial year.
1-3. The document (FOI 293-11 Injuries On Duty) attached below contains information specific to these parts of your request. Please note that whilst some of the symptoms may not appear to be an injury, these came about as a direct result of an occurrence on duty.
