Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')
Thank you for your email dated 11 April 2011 in which you made a request for access to certain information which may be held by Northumbria Police.
As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.
You asked:
How many police staff have ‘diversity’ in their job title or description – this could be for example Diversity Director, Diversity Officer, Diversity Coordinator, Head of Diversity etc. or somebody with joint responsibility for diversity?
How many police officers have ‘diversity’ in their job title or description – this could be for example Diversity Director, Diversity Officer, Diversity Coordinator, Head of Diversity etc. or somebody with joint responsibility for diversity?
Could you please list the titles of those from Qs 1 and 2, and indicate their salary (or salary range) along with their status (police staff vs police officer).
In response:
We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.
Following receipt of your request, searches were conducted with the Human Resources Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held in part by Northumbria Police.
There are no job titles for Police Officers or Staff contain the word "diversity". However the following role descriptions, as recorded on the Human Resources Management System, do make reference to diversity:
| Police Staff: | Salary Range (£) |
|---|---|
| HR Policy Manager | £40,668 - £44,526 |

| HR Adviser | £25,668 - £28,107 |
| Resourcing and Workforce Planning Manager | £40,668 - £44,526 |
Police Officers do not have role descriptions.
The following phrase is included in all Police Officer and Police Staff ICF role profiles:
