As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.
You asked:
With regards to my earlier request - FOI 145/12 refers can I please resubmit and ask For the seven day period commencing 24/1/11 could you please provide the details of total hours worked individually by inspecting ranks in your force i.e. inspectors and chief inspectors, whether uniform or CID officers? Please break down by officer.
In response:
We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.
Following receipt of your request, further searches were conducted with the HR Department of Northumbria Police. I can confirm that the information you have requested is held by Northumbria Police.
I have today decided to disclose the located information to you as follows.
The wide variation in hours relates to a combination of annual leave and shift patterns worked by officers during the seven day period requested. Shift patterns do not correspond with a Monday to Sunday calendar and therefore the period requested will cover more than one 'working week'. The hours all officers and staff work is governed by working time directives and health and safety legislation.
