Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')
Thank you for your email dated 16 September 2010 in which you made a request for access to certain information which may be held by Northumbria Police.
As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.
Would you please be kind enough to advise me as to how many training centres you have within your force, and where they are, and if you do not have any or share training with another force, would you please tell who you share with, where the centre is, and any contact details.
I am currently researching into all Forces/ Constabularies both geographical and non-geographical across England and Wales as to the current type and level of training in forensic awareness.
I’m looking at both probationer/recruit training, PCSO training and also professional development for established officers.
We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.
Northumbria Police have one main training centre, which is based at Police Headquarters, Ponteland, Newcastle upon Tyne.
We also have a collaborative arrangement with Durham Constabulary for Student Officer Training, where we provide joint training for new police recruits for both Durham and Northumbria Forces. This is held at North East Centre for Policing Skills, which is located at Durham Constabulary Force Headquarters.

Your use of the information must be strictly in accordance with the Copyright Designs and Patents Act 1988 (as amended) or such other applicable legislation.
