Provision of information held by Northumbria Police made under the Freedom of Information Act 2000 (the 'Act')(FOIA)
Thank you for your email dated 1 March 2010 in which you made a request for access to certain information which may be held by Northumbria Police.
As you may be aware the purpose of the Act is to allow a general right of access to information held by a Public Authority (including the Police), subject to certain limitations and exemptions.
You asked:
We write to request information regarding your policy on Police power of Eviction on Unauthorised Encampment of Gypsies and Travellers. Please supply us with a copy of your policy.
We would also be grateful to receive confirmation that you are both aware of the ACPO Encampment Guidance and have implemented your policy in accordance with it.
In response:
We have now had the opportunity to fully consider your request and I provide a response for your attention.
Northumbria Police does not have a policy specific to your request. However, we do hold a procedure titled 'Gypsy and Traveller Issues'. We have extracted the information which you may find relevant to your request and have attached below for your information.
I can confirm we are aware of the ACPO guidance.

How to complain
