Northumbria Police Subject Access Requests

People have a right of access to personal data held about them and can make an application through the procedure ‘Subject Access’ (Data Protection Act 1998). Forms can be used and are available below. It is not a requirement to complete this form, however it may make it easier to locate the information you want.

Disclosure replies may take up to 40 days from the day your completed request, fee and copies of ID are received by this office.  If you do not receive a disclosure reply within 14 days after this time (ie 54 days from the original application) please contact the Disclosure Section.

Subject Access Requests can be forwarded by post to the above address and must be accompanied by copies of two forms of identification:

  • A copy of an identification document, eg birth certificate, current passport.

  • A copy of proof of address - Recent utility bill or British driving licence – do not send originals, copies will not be returned.

  • There is a £10 application fee. Cheques or postal orders should be made payable to Northumbria Police and should be clearly marked "Subject Access" on the back, along with the name of the applicant.

A copy of the subject access form is available in two formats. You can print this out and send it to the Disclosure Section at the address on the form, along with a copy of your identification and the fee.
