Appeal after serious assault in Throckley

Police are appealing for witnesses following a serious assault in Newcastle.

At around 3.35pm on Saturday, May 6, police received a report of a disturbance involving a group of men in the area of Newburn Road and Hallow Drive in Throckley.

Officers attended and found that a 20-year-old man had been assaulted. He suffered head and chest injuries and was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries before he was later discharged,

Two men aged 18 and 38 and two youths aged 13 and 15 were arrested following this assault and have been released pending further enquiries.

Extra patrols have been in the area since the incident to carry out enquiries and reassure any concerned members of the public.

Now police have appealed for anyone with any information about the incident to get in touch.
