Work takes centre stage

Dated: 02 Nov 2009

The work of police and partners throughout Northumbria takes centre stage from today for the third ‘Not in My Neighbourhood Week’.

From street walkabouts, estate clean-ups, crime prevention events and even ‘cuppas with coppas’, activities are taking place across the force area.

Now in its third year, ‘Not in My Neighbourhood Week' highlights the work taking place in communities by police, local agencies and partners.

Running between November 2-6, the aim is to demonstrate what's being done to tackle crime and anti-social behaviour and make neighbourhoods safer.

The week also looks to improve confidence in the work the police and local agencies are doing and encourage people to play their part in tackling local issues.

More information about what’s happening in individual areas is available under the “your neighbourhood” section of this website.
