Damage at chip shop

Information is being sought after damage was caused to a South Shields chip shop.

The incident happened between 4pm and 4.45pm, on Wednesday, March 23, where the offenders used green spray paint to graffiti the side wall of Horsley Hill fisheries, in Horsley Hill before making off from the scene.

Police are keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the damage being caused or who has any information.

PC Dave Rockell said: "Such criminal damage can ruin neighbourhoods as everyone can see its effects. It can have an impact on the fear of crime and is a major factor in how people perceive their quality of life.

"We are doing all we can to trace those responsible for this offence and will be targeting people intent on committing acts of criminal damage.

"I'd urge anyone with information to contact us."
