Man injured in assault

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault in a Newcastle street.
It happened around 12.10am on Saturday, May 7 at Dene Avenue in Lemington, when an 18-year-old man was assaulted by two others. He suffered a cut to his head, which was possibly caused by an unknown weapon.
He received stitches at hospital before being released. It was reported that the youths were seen making off from the area towards Waverley Road.
