CCTV images issued to trace three witnesses

This man may be able police as a witness to a murder

Police investigating a murder in Gateshead have released CCTV images of three people who may be potential witnesses.

The people pictured may have important information in connection with Leslie Liddle's (aged 41) murder who was attacked outside the Gospel Methodist Church on Bensham Road at around 6.30pm on Wednesday, September 7. He suffered serious head injuries and later died in hospital.

Officers arrested three men in connection with his death and charged Tyrone Urwin, 20, Saint Cuthberts Road, Gateshead with murder. He's currently in custody to appear before Newcastle Crown Court at a date and time to be set.

Detectives are continuing to appeal for any witnesses to come forward and contact police especially the three people pictured who officers believe were in the area at the time of the incident. Officers stress these people are potential witnesses.
