Arrests following disturbance at Newcastle pub

Two people have been arrested following a disturbance at a Newcastle pub.

At just before 6.30pm, on Saturday, February 4, police received a report of a fight at the Villa Victoria Inn, on Westmoreland Road.

Officers attended the scene along with the ambulance service where two men were found to be suffering from head injuries believed to have been caused by bar stools.
 
One of the men was taken to the RVI for treatment. However, his injuries are not life threatening.

Two men, aged 50 and 47, have been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to commit GBH. Both have been bailed pending further enquiries.

Enquiries into the incident are continuing.
