Man charged after theft from car

A man has been charged after a theft from a car in Newcastle.
It happened at 4.55pm on Sunday, January 5, when police received a report that a car had been broken into at Ryal Walk in Kenton. A window was smashed and a sat nav stolen from inside.
Officers attended and arrested a 43-year-old man nearby. He was subsequently charged with theft from a motor vehicle and is going through the court system.
