Cash stolen from teenager

Police are investigating after a teenager was robbed in Newcastle.

It happened at 2.10pm on Friday, February 3, when the 17-year-old male was at Grainger Street in the city centre.

He was asked by a man if he had any change, and when he said he didn't, he was threatened by the offender. The victim then handed over some cash.

He was uninjured in the incident.

The offender is described as white, aged between 35 and 40 years old, about 5ft 6ins tall, with a red complexion, wrinkles and unshaven. He was wearing a dark blue mid-length coat and spoke with a local accent.
