TVs and jewellery taken in house burglary

Police are appealing for witnesses after a house was broken into in Gateshead.

It happened between 5.30pm on Saturday, February 4 and 12.30pm on Sunday, February 5, when burglars broke into an address in Pickering Drive, Blaydon and stole two flat screen TVs and jewellery worth almost £500.

Acting Neighbourhood Inspector David Carruthers, whose policing team covers the area, said: "Being broken into is incredibly distressing, especially when valuable and sentimental items are stolen. I'd urge anyone with any information to contact police."
