Arrests made after car damage

Dated: 07 Feb 2012

Police arrested seven people after cars were damaged in Newcastle. The vehicles were parked in Benwell Grove in Benwell when they had wing mirrors damaged at about 1.35am on Saturday February 4.

Seven people were arrested on suspicion of criminal damage. Four have been released with no further action and three male youths, all aged 15, are awaiting youth surgery.

Acting Sergeant Joe Birkett said: "Most of the vandalism involved wing mirrors being kicked off. Such mindless damage will not be tolerated and we will always seek to take action against those who commit it, as demonstrated here by our swift action in making arrests."
