BlackBerry stolen from car

Police are appealing for witnesses after a mobile phone was stolen from a car parked outside a Gateshead pizza shop.

Between 6.45pm and 7pm on Monday, February 6, a thief got into an insecure car, parked outside a shop in Blyth Street, Chopwell and stole a BlackBerry mobile from the dashboard.

Police are making enquiries in the area and checking CCTV.  Officers are also reminding motorists to make sure they take their personal belongings with them or lock them away securely.

Anyone with information about the theft or knows the whereabouts of the BlackBerry is asked to contact Northumbria Police on 101 ext 69191 or the independent charity Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
