Dated: 10 Feb 2012
Sergeant Martin Brooks has just joined the Killingworth Neighbourhood Policing Team.
Sgt Brooks is an experienced officer with 16 years service with the force. He has been a North Tyneside officer for two years and previously worked in Sunderland and Newcastle. Most recently he was a neighbourhood sergeant at Wallsend and is now based with the Killingworth team at Forest Hall Police Station.
He said: "I'm pleased to be joining the Killingworth team and am looking forward to meeting residents, local business people and partner organisations.
"Providing a policing service tailored to the needs of our local community is I believe very important. This is what I want to deliver in my new role. Our priority here is to continue to tackle burglary, this means targeting officers to catch offenders as well as helping people prevent crime."
Sergeant Brooks will be responsible for policing the Forest Hall, Holystone, Palmersville, Benton and Longbenton areas reporting directly to Inspector John Smith.
Inspector Smith added: "Sgt Brooks is a welcome addition to our team and I know his enthusiasm and expertise will be warmly received by our local communities."
