Attempted break-in at library

Police are appealing for witnesses after an attempted break-in at a Newcastle library.

It happened between 5.30pm on Wednesday, February 8 and 7.30am on Thursday, February 9, when windows were smashed at the library at Fenham Hall Drive in Fenham.

The offenders didn't gain entry but caused damage to the building.

Neighbourhood Inspector Leigh McManus said: "The offenders caused damage to a community facility, which is widely used by local people. I'd urge anyone who witnessed suspicious activity in the area or has information about who is responsible to get in touch with us as soon as possible."
