Robbery at Newcastle petrol station

Police are appealing for witnesses after a Newcastle petrol station robbery.

At 8.34pm on Friday, February 10, police were called to the Chapel House petrol station on Hillhead Parkway, Newcastle after a  robbery.

A man went into the garage shop and after selecting items from display and offering payment, he threatened a staff member with a dumbbell and demanded cash before leaving.  No one was injured, but the staff member was shocked by the incident.

The man is described as white in his late 30s to early 40s and stocky. He was wearing a black jacket, scarf and carrying a rugsack.
