Teenager robbed in street

Police are appealing for witnesses to an assault and robbery involving a 16-year-old boy outside Hope House Community Church, Hendon Road, Sunderland.
The teenager was walking along the street at 5pm on Friday, February 10, when he was approached by an offender who punched him in the face causing him to fall. The offender and four more people then kicked and punched the boy before making off with his BlackBerry.
The teenager was taken to Sunderland General Hospital to be treated for his injuries and later allowed to leave to recover at home.
Detectives would like to hear from anyone who saw what happened or knows who might be responsible.
