Robbery in Leazes Park

Police are appealing for witnesses after a robbery in Newcastle.

It happened at about 10.40pm on Monday, February 13, when an 18-year-old man was walking through Leazes Park when he was approached by three men.

Two of them punched the victim and the third made verbal threats. The victim has his mobile phone and wallet stolen before the men ran off.

The victim wasn't badly injured in the incident but was left shaken.

The two men who assaulted the victim are described as white, aged between 20 and 25 years old, one was about 5ft 4ins tall of medium build, with a chubby face, while the other was about 5ft 5ins tall of slim build.

The third man is described as black, aged between 20 and 25 years old, about 5ft 2ins tall of muscular build, with a foreign accent.
