Three charged with robbery

Police have charged three people following a disturbance in South Shields.

At 8.55pm, on Thursday, February 16, police received a report of a man being assaulted by a group of people on King Street. Officers attended the scene along with the ambulance service.

The 34-year-old victim, who had his bag stolen during the incident, was assessed by paramedics at the scene. However, he did not require hospital treatment.

Police arrested three people in connection with the incident.

Two women aged 28 and 19 and a man aged 26 have been charged with robbery and are going through the court process.
