Assault outside takeaway

Police are making enquiries after a report that a man was assaulted in Hexham, Northumberland.

At 3am on Sunday, February 19, police received information from the ambulance service that a 26-year-old man had been found with injuries near to Amigos takeaway at Priestpopple in Hexham.

At this stage it's believed he was assaulted and officers are making enquiries to establish what has happened.

The victim is receiving treatment at Newcastle's RVI hospital for a fractured jaw.
