Appeal after man assaulted

Police are appealing for witnesses after a report that a man was assaulted in Newcastle.

At 12.55am on Saturday, February 18, police received a report that a 30-year-old man had suffered injuries at the rear of Carfield Road in Kenton.

On Saturday night it was established that the victim had received hospital treatment for a fracture to his jaw. It's believed he was assaulted and that it happened at around 12.30am

Police are still trying to establish exactly what has happened and are appealing for any witnesses to the incident or anyone who saw suspicious activity in the area to get in touch with them.
