Garages broken into in Ponteland

Police are appealing for witnesses after a number of break-ins in Northumberland.

Overnight on Thursday, February 23 and Friday February 24, seven garages in Ponteland and Ovingham were broken into. Addresses in Ladywell Way, Glebe Close, Kirkley Drive, Westsyde and West Road in Ponteland were affected as well as an address in Horsley Road in Ovingham.

A number of bikes, along with other items, were stolen.

Chief Inspector Jackie Coleman, of Northumberland Area Command, said: "We'd urge anyone who saw anyone acting suspiciously in the area or may be offered a cheap bike for sale to contact police."
