Aggravated burglary in Kenton

Police are appealing for information after a man was attacked when his home was broken into in Newcastle.

It happened at 2.15pm on Friday, February 24, in Heathfield Crescent in Kenton, when two men went into an address and attacked the 41-year-old male occupant with what's believed to be a machete and bat.

He was taken to hospital for treatment where his condition is not thought to be life-threatening.

Officers are carrying out enquiries to establish what happened.

The men are described as in their late teens / early twenties.
