Appeal for witnesses to robbery

Police are investigating a report of a robbery in Newcastle.

It happened at about 9.30pm on Wednesday, February 22, when the 42-year-old man was at Trafalgar Street at Manors, Newcastle.

He was asked for a cigarette by one of three men and when he accidentally took items from his pocket, he was grabbed round the neck by the man who stole an amount of cash from his hand.

He was not injured during the incident. It was reported on Thursday night, February 23.

One of the offender is said to be a white man, aged between 45 and 50 years old, about 5ft 10ins tall of skinny build, of scruffy appearance with blood shot eyes and grey stubble. He was wearing a blue woollen hat, dark coloured jacket and dark tracksuit bottoms.

The second man was white, aged in his 20s, about 6ft 2ins tall of medium build, with short dyed black hair with ginger roots and ginger stubble. He was carrying a Staffordshire Bull Terrier and wearing a blue padded coat.

The third person is a woman, white, aged in her mid 20s, about 5ft 7ins tall and of skinny build, with straight black hair tied up, and wearing black leggings, a white jumper and trainers.
