Burglary in Blyth

Police are appealing for witnesses following a burglary in Northumberland.

It happened at 4.15am this morning, Saturday, February 25, at an address in Barras Avenue West in Blyth when a man went into the property and asked the elderly female occupant for money. He then stole a number of items.

The woman was not injured in the incident but was left shaken.

Officers are keen to hear from anyone who may have seen anything or may have any information.

Detective Constable Alison Felton, of Northumberland CID, said: "The elderly victim has been left incredibly shaken and upset by this incident and I'd urge anyone with any information to contact police immediately so we can find who is responsible."
