Theft of cable

Police are appealing for witnesses to the theft of cable from a telephone mast in North Shields.
The incident happened between 11pm on Friday, February 24, and 00.30am on Saturday, February 25. Thieves climbed the telephone mast at a business premises in Lawson Street and cut the telephone cable valued at £2,000 and left the premises with it.
Police are appealing for anyone who was in the area at the time and may have seen or heard anything suspicious. Also anyone who may have been offered the cable for sale, is asked to contact police.
