Bikes stolen

Police are appealing for witnesses following the theft of two bikes from the rear of a house in Whitley Bay.

The incident happened between 5.15pm on Monday, February 27, and 8.30am on Tuesday, February 28. Thieves went down the back lane and got into the rear yard of the house in Beech Grove and stole two bikes which had covers over them and were chained up together.

One is described as a Specialised Hard Rock brand, pale blue in colour with 21 gears, the other a gentlemen's black/grey Claud Butler mountain bike.

Police are appealing for witnesses anyone who was in the area and who may have seen or heard anything suspicious is asked to contact police. Also anyone who may be offered these items for sale is asked to contact police.
