New sergeant joins team

Sergeant Joanne Eyre has just joined Killingworth Neighbourhood Policing Team.
The experienced officer has moved to the Forest Hall station after working in 24/7 response across the area command.
Sgt Eyre has been an officer for 14 years. She started her career with Greater Manchester Police before transferring to Northumbria in 2002.
She said "I'm very pleased to be working as a neighbourhood officer and I'm now getting to know local residents, partners and business people in the area.
"I'm working with an enthusiastic and dedicated team who are focused on reducing crime and making the area even safer for local people. I aim to build on the good work already being carried out."
Sgt Eyre will be responsible for policing the Longbenton, Benton, Forest Hall, Holystone and Palmersville areas within the Killingworth sector.
