Appeal after robbery

Police are appealing for witnesses after a robbery in Newcastle.

It happened at about 6pm on Friday, April 6, at Hillheads Road at its junction with Ashdale Crescent in West Denton. A 15-year-old boy was approached by three other teenagers who asked him for cigarettes.

When he refused he was pulled to the ground and assaulted, suffering facial injuries. He then ran off past the fire station on West Denton Way.

The three offenders are said to be about 15 or 16 years old, one was about 5ft 11ins tall of skinny build, wearing a black hooded top and a neck warmer over his face, with black gloves and black tracksuit bottoms.

The second was about the same height, of medium build, dressed as the first offender but with light grey trainers, while the third was shorter at about 5ft 6ins tall with short black hair, a black hooded top and neck warmer over his face. All three had BMX bikes.
