Cannabis farm

Police have seized a cannabis farm with nearly 50 plants from a house in Bedlington.

Officers from Bedlington Neighbourhood Policing Team responding to community concerns carried out a search warrant at a house in Edward Road in Bedlington on Tuesday, April 24 and found 47 cannabis plants.

Acting Sergeant Melissa Hepburn from Bedlington Neighbourhood Policing Team said: "We are determined to tackle the problem of drug abuse in our communities. Locating and removing cannabis farms forms part of this approach.

"Anyone who has suspicions of illegal drugs activity in their community, or concerns about drug abuse where they live, should contact their local Neighbourhood Policing Team on 101 ext 69191."

A 22-year-old man was arrested on suspicion of being concerned in the production of cannabis and has been bailed pending further enquiries.
