Man life threatening after assault

Police are appealing for witnesses after an assault in Newcastle.
At around 2.30am on Sunday July 1 police received a report of an assault on a man at the Riverside Bar on the Quayside.
Officers attended the scene where a 20-year-old man was unconscious on the pavement outside the premises. He was taken to hospital where his injuries are described as life threatening.
