Fire at house in Byker treated as arson
Dated: 12 Jul 2012
Police are appealing for witnesses after a house was set on fire in Byker.
At 2.20am on Thursday, July 12, police were informed by Tyne and Wear Fire and Rescue Service of fire at an address in Felton Walk.
The occupant of the house was in the property at the time but was not injured.
Fire investigators are carrying out enquiries in order to establish the cause of the fire, however, it's believed an accelerant was pushed through the letterbox, causing damage to the front door.

Two men, both 30-years-old, have been arrested on suspicion of arson with intent to endanger life and are currently in police custody.
