Recovery of stolen goods

On Friday, April 13, a large number of stolen goods were recovered from an address in Bevan Gardens, Wardley.
Officers from the East Gateshead Neighbourhood Team, together with Gateshead CID and Intelligence Officers, executed a search warrant which resulted in the recovery of:
- a large amount of stolen clothing, believed to be worth more than £15,000
- around 8oz of white powder believed to be Amphetamine
- 8,000 cigarettes
- more than £4,000 in cash.
A 58-year-old man was arrested and is on police bail pending further enquiries.
East Gateshead Neighbourhood Inspector Kevin Rigg said: " There was a huge amounty of property at this address and it took officers almost seven hours to complete the search.
" This was an intelligence led operation and the items recovered were removed in a fleet of police cars and a police van."
