Three arrested following assault

Police have arrested three people following an assault in Newcastle.

At just before 11pm, on Wednesday, May 7, police received a report from the ambulance service of a 27-year-old man at an address on Bentinck Terrace, Byker, with a puncture wound to his side.

He was taken to Newcastle's RVI for treatment to a punctured lung and broken ribs. His condition is not believed to be life threatening.

Two men, aged 41 and 25, and a 25-year-old woman have all been arrested on suspicion of wounding with intent to commit GBH. All are helping police with enquiries.

Enquiries into the assault are underway and detectives are keen to speak to anyone with any information.
